In their 'Best
of E3 awards', the staff from The Wargamer, PiesTactics.com, and 10-David.com
selected the upcoming Age of Wonders II: The Wizard's Throne for the
Turn Based Strategy category.
May 11, 2001 - "Medieval Masters" compilation Patch
An installation bug in the recently released
"Medieval Masters" compilation causes Age of Wonders to occasionally crash
during tactical combat. Publisher Take Two has put up a patch that fixes
this problem. You can download the patch here.
Do not use this patch on any other version of Age of Wonders. Extract
the ZIP-file in the Medieval Masters directory.
May 11, 2001 - Age of Wonders II @ E3expo
The upcoming Age of Wonders II: The Wizard's
throne will be showcased at GoDGames's pavilion at E3 in LA (May 17-19).

April 17, 2001 - New Age of Wonders Community Sites!
We are pleased to inform you about two new Age
of Wonders websites. The
Age of Wonders Heaven is a new site with an excellent map archive,
with easy to use up-and download functions.

November 27, 2000 - New Forum!
Silverleaf set up the The
Lifeline Age of Wonders Forum , which should be faster and more stable
then the trusty old message board hosted by the good folks at the Valley
of Wonders fan-site, which has been haunted by server problems lately.
Developers will stop by this new forum to talk about Age of Wonders and
new games later on.
June 23, 2000 - New Forum and the Map Makers Resource Site!
Malicious goblins sneaked into the Valley of
Wonders forum and caused all sorts of mischief. Luckily the good fairies
built a new safe place to discuss all things related to the Age of Wonders.

on how to create high quality scenarios. Kudos to BlueCollarHeaven for

April 27, 2000 - What next?
Many people have asked if an Age of Wonders add-on
pack or sequel is under development. We can only tell you that Triumph
Studios is hard at work developing *something* and have not departed
to the Caribbean to live off their royalties, or gone out of business or
whatever. Unfortunately we can’t tell more then that for the time being.
In the mean time you can you check out some new additions to the Links
Page, or check out the constant new flow of user
created scenarios.
March 29, 2000 - User-created Scenarios Spotlight
Since Age of Wonders' release many people have
put the game's editor to good use, and hundreds of scenarios have been
created. These scenarios can be downloaded from various sites listed in
the Links Page, but Kirsten's
Site is the most comprehensive. We'd also like to mention Jeff
Pinard's New Site, which features a great scenario info database that
will help you find maps of your liking, by sorting maps by author, for
example.
March 9, 2000 - Upgrade V1.36 available and AoW tournament!
We are pleased to bring you the Age of Wonders
v1.36 patch. It is a follow up to V1.35, which failed to repair some glitches
and adds some more fixes. V1.36 fixes some rare crashes, improves the automatic
combat calculations involving archers and fixes some minor balance issues.
This upgrade also includes a fix for the end of game bug when playing in
Italian.

Again this upgrade works on all versions of Age of Wonders, regardless
of language or current version number.

February 9, 2000 - AoW worldwide release and more reviews!
Over the last week, Age of Wonders has started
to appear in shops around the world! This verion, published by Take
2 Interactive, ships with version 1.3 out of the box. The European
press agrees that Age of Wonders is a great game! For some new online

in the US printed press have also been great, with PC Gamer awarding 91%,
Computer Gaming World giving 4/5 stars and Next Generation 5/5 stars!
January 20, 2000 - Upgrade V1.31 & New Demo are available!
We are pleased to announce the Age of Wonders
v1.31 patch. The major enhancements are improved AI, better multi-player
stability, support for 5 languages and some balance tweaks. For a full

of this version coincides with the release of a new demo, a demo patch
and the worldwide retail release. For a full list of new AoW downloads

But first allow us thank all the people who sent us feedback
and reported bugs, all the way back from the first Beta Demo. You really
helped us make Age of Wonders what it is today!
The 1.31 Full Game Patch
This patch upgrades all versions of AoW, including the
original US release, Any previous applied patches and the 1.3 European
Take Two version in any language.

The 1.31 Demo
Next to incorporating the features from the 1.31 patch,
this new demo includes an extra scenario to play and can also run in 5
languages.

The 1.31 Demo Patch
If you have downloaded any AoW demo before, including
the early Beta Demo you can download this demo patch to make your demo
up to date. This patch also includes the extra scenario and mult-language.
Size = 12 MB,
Worldwide Release
AoW will be available at the end of January/Early February
worldwide. This version will come with v1.3 out of the box. The v1.31 patch
can also be applied to this version, regardless of language.
January 19, 2000 - AoW at the Gaming Gourmet with scenario
to download!
From the people at Gamespy: "We run a weekly
feature on GameSpy.com called The
Gaming Gourmet, where master Chef Louis Tete Fromage goes over a recipe
once a week that even a gamer could cook. This week he had a special guest
and special guest recipe from Tondor Grimstone, the hero of Deepmir (an
Age of Wonders Character.) At the end of the column is a custom Age of

December 24, 1999 - New Manual Addendum and Season’s Greetings

Stratos Group, authors of the Age of Wonders Manual and Strategy Guide

December 8, 1999 - Tournament at Games Weekly! More Reviews!

More Age of Wonders reviews have been added to the Links
Section, including a bunch of bigger game sites this time. The game
is getting a great reception, with the vast majority of the reviews giving

November 26, 1999 - Upgrade V1.1 released!
The first patch/upgrade for the US full
version
of Age of Wonders has been released today. It fixes game play issues,
some system dependent bugs and adds features like box-select for
units and a visibilty toggle for mutli-player tactical combat. For a full

November 25, 1999 - New Forum and HEAT.NET kickoff!
After handling around 10,000 posts, the old forum's
server crashed, losing messages and user profiles. The good fellows at
the Valley of Wonders have setup a New
Forum for the AoW community to hangout. Developers will be visiting
and contributing to the discussions when they have a spare moment. Old
user profiles are not available at this new forum, so Sign
Up now!
And after a short delay, Age of Wonders is now playable
on the free HEAT.NET
matchmaking service. Log-on and challenge fellow AoW gamers!

November 19, 1999 - Manual Addendum + First Review!
The
Stratos Group, authors of the Age of Wonders Manual and Strategy Guide
have put up a FREE
16-Page Manual Addendum in PDF format, which includes charts on city
relations, attack types, terrain and morale effects. Kudos to Stratos for
their dedication!
Daily Radar were the first to post a Review
of Age Wonders, giving it their highest "Direct Hit" rating!
November 12, 1999 - Age of Wonders in US Stores + other news!
The first copies of Age of Wonders have been
spotted in stores across the US as of November 11th. The game should reach
all retail outlets in the US in the next week, and online pre-orders have
started shipping as well. Information on release dates in other territories
will be made available as soon as the dates are official.

November 1, 1999 - Age of Wonders has gone gold!
Just in time for its November 15 US release date,
Age of Wonders has gone gold! Release dates in other countries will
